Health Services

Health Services provides a variety of health-related programs to district students. Annually, EGUSD school nurses screen children for vision and hearing problems, and scoliosis (a spinal deformity), for 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys. Health Services also provides employee wellness programs (including TB skin testing, CPR and First Aid training), communicable disease control, parent education, nutrition programs, disability awareness programs and health counseling for students, staff, and parents. Special Education Health Services provides physical assessment and home visits to assess physical and psycho-social needs of student identified for special education services, as well as providing specialized physical health care services to severely handicapped children.
