WMC and Video 2,3 Production Ideas
Most EVERY production needs to be a series
of progression from beginnig to middle to end.
- The beginning should intrigue the audience
and capture its interest while setting up a conflict that needs to be
resolved.
- The middle should cover the evolution
of that conflict.
- The end should provide the solution
of the conflict or its transformation into something else.
-Who is .... Come up with a name. A strange one and
leave it a mystery until next time or a contest to submit to STEM for
a Student Store prize.
-What if..... Come up with an improbable scenario and
get reactions
-What would you do if.... Come up with an event or occasion
and get reactions
-Interview or have a discussion with inanimate objects
(flower, tree, car)
-Slapstick - planned accidents such as a person buys
a lunch and manages to drop everything before eating.
-Create a yucky "love" music video from a sappy
song with love images coming up then stop it after a short time. Zoom
out to show someone looking at it. Get their reaction. Have them tweak
a few keyboard controls and change the video to a more realistic look
at love.
-Get a student who speaks a foreign language to ask the "silly
unanswerable questions" and get reactions and then one student
who can answer the question. Mix up the language of the person asking
and the person
responding.
-Can you do this? : (do something or say something that
people have to try and do on camera)
-Outline (silhouette) of a person and guess who they
are.
-Trivia facts that come before a broadcast
-Clothing or hair of a person - guess who
they are.
-Speed up, slow down, reverse clips
-Music Piracy and DVD Movie piracy - (blacked out person
talking about it)
-Depression in Teens : Research and Script
-Promotions for clubs
-Feeder School Orientations and Expectations
-Tour guide for new students
-Autobiographies (staff or students)
-Commercials for student store products
-Movie, TV or book reviews
-Animations (paper bag, clay, Photoshop, Flash)
-PSA:Public Service Announcement
-Demonstrations - "How To"
-Dance demo
-Rapid Fire (25 images in 5 seconds!)
-Student work in Art
-Student music talent
-Student hobbies or achievements outside
of school
-Dr. Advice (video advice column)
-Top Ten lists
-Reality Show spoofs (Joe Millionaire, Extreme Makeover,
Survivor)
-School Behavior: Bullying, Rumors, Harassment
-Cultural Diversity/Melting Pot (things we all have in
common)
-Opinions (pro and con) on school issues (homework, crowded
classrooms)
-Moral Dilemmas (telling truth or keeping secrets; protecting
a friend; making good choices of friends, etc)
-Communications Skills - How to effectively get a point

-Responsibilities of Driving
-10 Things you need to know about (Drugs, Alcohol, Driving, To Be
Successful,
-Documentaries (Fashion, Food, Cars, Historical, Scientific,
etc)
-Special Classes on Campus
-Plastic Surgery and teens - good or bad idea
-Tattoos and Piercings - why and the long term consequences.
How Does He Know - A person who can read your mind and
gets in the way of everything you think of doing.
The Gift - A dollar with your name on it that keeps coming
back to you until you give it to the right person.
A Day in The Life - People segue into each other describing
: school day : event : an incident : a PSA Feeling
The Clean Freak -: This person can't stand to get dirty.
Food, dirt, smudges, pencil, pen, being touched, etc. A chance to pick
up some money dropped in the dirt challenges this person. Come up with
a clever way the person gets the money without getting dirty.
Drama: As the Wildcat Growls
Day 1 : Excitement over a letter received from an unknown person.
Day 2 : A text message saying meet me by the 2nd tree to the left north
of the drinking fountain.
Day 3 : A note found in your jacket pocket stating you are someone special.
Day 4: A poster by the gym with you name on it and a heart
Day 5 : A text message received that just says "Tomorrow"
Day 6 : A letter received with a map to a place where you look and find
a candy bar labeled to "someone sweet".
Day 7 : A person walks up to you and introduces themselves as "new"
at school, first day, and asks to walk you to class.
Day 8 : You get no notes, messages or anything else. You wonder if this
new person is the person who has sent you the notes.
Day 9 : You look around for the person. Can't find him
Day 10 : End it - find him and be happy or not find him and ????
EACH DAY the same person is with you (it winds up not being the person
who sent the items)
