Objective: To create an original music video using the techniques typical of this genre. For grading purposes, you may edit you music down to 2 ½ to 3 minutes (or you may edit the entire length of the song.)
Procedure: Take a look at a couple of music videos at VH1 Classics. Watch this video with Beat of My Heart and Rush, and this one with Amazing. Take a look at some past student examples. You have a choice to make your own song, or use the music of a local band. You must select something with lyrics that are appropriate for a school project.
If you want to record your own song, you can use auto-tune in GarageBand (See this tutorial)
Then think up a story that can go with the song. The story must have a beginning, middle, and end. It could be a simple as “boy meets, girl, boy loses girl, girl returns to boy.” Determine your director, your producer and any actors you will need. At your option, you may lip sync the music, or you may build a story without any reference to singers. Use only footage or photos you have created. (Do not import an existing music video and only use photos that you have created or altered creatively in PhotoShop.)
Select a director, producer and identify the actors you will require. Select a typist from your group and submit the follow information to the server as a Microsoft Word file.
