Short Story Treatment

A month ago each group brainstormed ideas for a three to five minute short story that would be an appropriate entry in the Teen Digital Reel contest.

In this assignment you are to work in your row group to settle on a concept for your short story and develop it in to a Treatment. You must select a director for this project. The director will facilitate the group and make sure the assignment is completed on time. The group will select a typist. They will then develop a summary of the story they will shoot. They will list the cast and the director, the location(s) and any props required. This is due on the server at the end of the period. All group members receive the same grade. Late work will be docked two letter grades.

If you wish, you may break away from your group for this project and work with outside friends. Let your row group members know if you want to do this.

Grading Criteria

1. Begins with a short statement in capital letters that serves as the Hook?
2. Creative and entertaining story with a clear beginning, middle and end.
3. Adequately introduces major characters, setting, and plot.
4. The cast and crew are named for the project.
5. Locations are listed
6. Props required are listed
7. Turned in as a Microsoft Word document in the proper folder on the server.
