Hypno-Bear - Part 2

Proposal: 10 points

Script: 25 points

Script Revision 5 points

Shot List 20 points

Video: 100 Points

OBJECTIVE: To produce an original sequel to the Hypno-Bear story with an estimated running time of about three minutes (based on a 3 ½ and 4 page script.)

PROCEDURE: For this assignment, you brainstorm with other members of your group various concepts for a sequel to Hypno-Bear 1.  You do not need to use the same bear, but one of the original characters (either Devin or Pat) will return.  The second character may have a small part if needed.  The director of  Hypno-Bear 1 will become a new character in this project.  The proposal must follow this story structure.

  1. The beginning should intrigue the audience and capture its interest while setting up a conflict or situation that needs to be resolved.
  2. The middle should cover the evolution of that conflict.
  3. The end should provide the solution of the conflict or its transformation into something else.

The group will then select a typist to write a four-page script that uses one (or both) of the same characters in Hypno-Bear and continues the story developed in the first script.  You must collaborate with the other members of your row group to write this script.  You must follow a story arc:

You should work together on deciding the lines for the characters.  The typist will type the lines discussed by the group. ALL member of the group must participate in this process. The script should follow standard script format. The typist will put the Microsoft Word file on the server. All three co-writers will receive the same score for the script.  All members of the group should be satisfied with the script before it is turned in.  Unsatisfactory scripts will be returned for revision.  The story should avoid violence and other themes inappropriate for a school project.

You will work in the same row groups; however, you must select a different director.  This means that the character played by the director, if he appears again, must have a limited role.  All row group members will submit an individual edit of the video.
