Rivercats Promo

Objective: To edit raw video footage into a 30-40 second promotional video.

Procedure:

• Use Slick Motion to create a spinning River Cats Logo (Set length to 5 seconds; Name movie file “rivercats_logo.dv)
• Start a new iMovie project titled lastname_rivercats
• Import all the Rivercats clips
• Import River Cats spinning logo
• View the clips so you are familiar with the content.
• Select a minimum of seven different clips and edit them to about 3 seconds each.
• Place your Production Logo “my_logo.dv” at start of project.
• Use an iMovie sound effect over your logo.
• Credits - Your name and period.

• Add appropriate audio - sound effect over logo, fast-paced selection of music from www.freeplaymusic.com. Edit end of music so that if fades out.
• Add transitions as needed
• Add effects to three selected clips. This includes slow motion effect on baseball player.

Save the final project. Go to File > Share and select QuickTime movie, CD-ROM quality.

Place the completed QuickTime into Video server under your period and in River Cats folder.

Grading Criteria

• Production company logo at start. Logo starts with sound effect.
• Transitions are used as needed.
• Effects are used on a few selected clips. This includes slow motion on baseball batter.
• Has slow motion effect on batter.
• Add appropriate audio - sound effect over logo,
• Music from www.freeplaymusic.com. Music fades out at end.
• The ambient audio levels are adjusted so their volume is low.
• The pacing of all edits is smooth
• End credit lists name and period. Two seconds long.
• Saved as QuickTime "CD-ROM Quality" and placed in correct folder on the server.
