Title: Music Video

Objective:

You have been hired to edit a music video! You are to take the clips prepared by a motion graphics artist and edit them in a way that makes sense with the rhythm of the music. 

 

Instructions for Music Video

 

  1. Open iMovie and create a new project.  Name this project with your last name underscore and Music Video. 
  2. Connect to the Student Server. Open a new Finder Window and select the Go drop down menu, then Connect to Server.  Log on to the server and select the Temp Stuff > Exploring Tech Media> Music Video Clips>Intel_mp4, and Import the music file (mp3) and the video files (mpeg-4). Select the timeline view and listen to the music.
  3. Look at all of the clips and then decide the order you want to add them.  The editing should follow the beat of the music. 
  4. Add at least five effects to the clips (for example: earthquake).
  5. Add your Edited by (your name) using the Music Video title at the start of your video, over the video (not over black) for five seconds. 
  6. When you are done, convert the project to a QuickTime file by going to the Share pull-down menu; Export Using Quicktime and make sure that CD-ROM Quality is selected.  Name the project with your last name underscore Music video. 

 

Grading Criteria

    1. The total running time is 60 seconds.
    2. The editing follows the rhythm of the music.
    3. There are five effects used.
    4. The music video title lists “edited by (your name)”
    5. The work is turned into the proper file with the last name #5.
