OFFICE OF SPECIAL EDUCATION AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES
The U. S. Department of Education (Special Education and Rehabilitative Services) is offering grants to provide individuals with disabilities with recreational activities that will help in their employment, mobility, socialization, independence and community integration.
Funds: There will be eight awards of $130,000 to $140,000 each

The Department of Education is seeking applicants who wish to promote technology that expands and improves education opportunities for students with disabilities.
Funds: Six awards of $100,000 to $2000,00 a year for phase 1 development projects; Six awards of $200,000 to $300,000 a year each for phase 2 research on effectiveness.

YES I CAN! FOUNDATION FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN
Teachers and service providers employed by public or nonprofit institutions are invited to apply for mini grants to support innovative and creative education-related projects that directly benefit gifted children and youth with disabilities. At least one award will be made in each of the following areas:

VSAarts and Volkswagen of America, Inc. is seeking entries for an art contest for promising young artists with disabilities. The theme is "Shifting Gears". Artists are asked to reflect on a life-changing moment in their lives that helped them understand themselves in relation to their art or their disability.
Funds: $20,000 grand prize, $10,000 first award, $6,000 second award and 12 awards of $2,000
