The science department at Florin High School prepares students for college and exposes them to the different branches of science. Students will learn how scientists work and develop appreciation and understanding of the complex and dynamic processes of the world in which we live. General science is required for all freshmen and is an overview of Earth Science. Biology is a sophomore class where students learn about living things and study different biological processes. Physiology is an elective science class that delves farther into the human biological aspect of science. Chemistry and Physics are advanced lab intensive classes that focus on the physical aspects of science. Students who opt to take four years of science will have a strong foundation for their college science classes, and be more prepared to handle the rigor of all college level classes. They will also leave high school with a greater understanding of career opportunities in a science field they may want to pursue. Science department faculty are listed below in alphabetical order. Each name also links to their email account. |
