Program Descriptions and Information

Classes are offered on a convenient morning, afternoon, or evening schedule to accommodate a daytime work or academic schedule.

 

Intro to PC Technology (4 wks/48 hrs)

Prerequisites:  None

Introduction to concepts and relationships between the computer and operating systems. Prepares students to enter the Evening Computer Service Technician/A+ Class.

Computer Service/A+ (12 wks/144 hrs)

Prerequisites:  Intro to PC Technology or Equivalent

Prepares students to take and pass the industry sponsored A+ Certification examinations and be proficient PC Technicians.  Includes: Storage Devices, Multi-Media/Advanced Software; Communications, Printers & Network Basics; PC Troubleshooting and Repair.

 

 

 

Net+ Certification (4 wks/48 hrs)

Prerequisites:  Computer Service/A+ or Equivalent

This program covers the physical and logical components of networking required to meet objectives of the CompTIA Net+ examination.

iNet+ Certification (6 wks/48 Hrs)

 

 

 

 

 

Prerequisites: Net+ or Equivalent

Designed for the student wishing to develop skills in Web technologies.  This course leads to students capable of taking and passing the CompTIA, I-Net+ Certification exam that certifies the student as a Certified Internet Webmaster Associate – the foundation certification required toward a Master Certified Internet Webmaster Certification.

Server + Certification (4 wks/36 hrs)

Prerequisites: A+ and Net+ Certification or Equivalent.

Explores the maintenance and support of computers and multiple platform network servers.

Cisco Certification (9 wks/72 hrs) (per semester)

Prerequisites:  Computer Service Technician/A+ or Equivalent

Includes four semesters of Cisco curriculum at the BTTI Cisco Training Academy.  Students can attend an individual semester or sign up for the entire program.

Industry Certification Test Review Classes

Test Review classes are designed for the individual who needs a review for certification exams or for those who are currently working in the field and desire to prepare for certification exam. Each class is seven hours in length and provides information on specific test objectives. Prerequisites: Prior training or industry experience in the subject area being reviewed. Classes are held on Saturdays. Call one of our Admission Representatives for specific class dates.

Intro to Microsoft Office (4 wks/32 hrs)

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows 

Designed for the entry-level user of Word, PowerPoint, Access & Excel, this class introduces the student to the concepts and practice needed to produce basic office support documents.

Intermediate Microsoft Office (4 wks/32 hrs)

Prerequisites: Introduction to Microsoft Office Suite or Equivalent

A continuation of the Introduction class, students are introduced to intermediate and advanced topics in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

Introduction to Computer Network System Administration

Prerequisites: Basic understanding of PC operation.  Designed for the person responsible or looking to take responsibility for a small networked environment.  This class will explore concepts and practices concerning network support including day-to-day operations, data back up and troubleshooting of a network.
